The result, the beverage was 1 to 5% alcohol.<\/li>\n<li>Scripture reveals that wine is given to men by God. \u2013 Psalm<br \/>\n<em><br \/>\nEven though wine is the context whatever scripture says about alcohol can be applied to any alcoholic beverage.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What does Scripture say?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ephesians 5:18<\/li>\n<li>Romans 13:13<\/li>\n<li>Galatians 5:19-21<\/li>\n<li>1 Peter 4:1-6<br \/>\n<em><br \/>\nDon\u2019t get drunk!<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Examples of Drunk Consequences<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lot<\/li>\n<li>Samson<\/li>\n<li>Ammon<\/li>\n<li>Asa<\/li>\n<li>Ahasuerus and Vashti<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>So, is alcohol the problem?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No, the problem is debauchery.<\/li>\n<li>Debauchery \u2013 Excessive indulgence in sensual pleasures.<\/li>\n<li>Why is debauchery wrong \u2013 indulging leads to putting self before others which in turn usually hurts others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Can Christians consume alcohol?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nothing in scripture absolutely forbids drinking alcohol. \u2013 1 Cor 6:12<\/li>\n<li>But, there is the expectation of moderation. \u2013 1 Peter 5:8<\/li>\n<li>Those who choose to consume must be conscience of the brother\u2019s weakness \u2013 1 Cor 8<\/li>\n<li>If it is a vice, avoid it at all costs! \u2013 James 1:12-15 &amp; 1 Cor 10:13<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t be like Ham?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ham did nothing to help his father.<\/li>\n<li>Ham did more damage than good.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We are each other\u2019s keeper.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Galatians 6:1-2<\/li>\n<li>Romans 15:1-3<\/li>\n<li>James 5:19-20<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Accountability relies on Scripture<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 Timothy 3:16-17\n<ul>\n<li>Teach the one who doesn\u2019t know better.<\/li>\n<li>Correct the one who misunderstands.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Rebuke the one who knows better. \u2013 Matthew 18:15-17<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Judge properly.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matthew 7:1-5<\/li>\n<li>vv. 1-2 is not a prohibition to judge but a warning on how to judge.<\/li>\n<li>vv. 3-5 is a call to self-examination before confrontation.<em>This is not an excuse not to confront, but instruction on how to confront lovingly.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>So What?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fulfill sensual desires responsibly and moderately.
