{"id":327,"date":"2015-04-26T20:59:32","date_gmt":"2015-04-26T20:59:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/?p=327"},"modified":"2015-05-12T01:18:53","modified_gmt":"2015-05-12T01:18:53","slug":"327","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/327\/","title":{"rendered":"Genesis &#8211; &#8220;Worship, Sin, Murder&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-327-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/apr26-15.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/apr26-15.mp3\">http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/apr26-15.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Worship, Sin, Murder<br \/>\nGenesis 4:1-26<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4>Difference between the offerings<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Abel\u2019s offering\n<ul>\n<li>Matt 23:35 \u2013 Abel was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>righteous<\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Heb 11:4 \u2013 Abel\u2019s righteousness came by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>faith<\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Abel\u2019s worship was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>because<\/strong> <\/span>of faith.<\/li>\n<li>Abel\u2019s offering shows he was concerned about his <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>relationship<\/strong> <\/span>with God.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Cain\u2019s offering\n<ul>\n<li>1 John 3:11-12 \u2013 Cain\u2019s deeds were <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>evil<\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>The intent behind Cain\u2019s offering was most likely <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>selfish desire<\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>If we are not careful our own worship could be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>no<\/strong><\/span> worship at all.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>The hindrance of sin.<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Sin is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>selfish<\/strong> <\/span>action done above what is best and right for others.<\/li>\n<li>Sin hinders our <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>relationship<\/strong> <\/span>with and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>worship<\/strong> <\/span>to God.<\/li>\n<li>Sin hinders our <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>relationship<\/strong> <\/span>with each other.<\/li>\n<li>Sin hinders the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>righteousness<\/strong> <\/span>of others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Murder<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>All sin results in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>consequences<\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Some sin is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>worse<\/strong> <\/span>than others.<\/li>\n<li>A person who murders becomes a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>god<\/strong> <\/span>unto themselves.<\/li>\n<li>Jesus likened <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>anger<\/strong> <\/span>to murder (Matt 5:21-24)<\/li>\n<li>John likened <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>hatred<\/strong> <\/span>to murder (1 John 3:15)<\/li>\n<li>Selfishness is at the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>root<\/strong> <\/span>of anger and hatred which are at the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>root<\/strong> <\/span>of murder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>The right worship of God<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Recognize the great <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>love<\/strong> <\/span>of God. \u2013 1 John 3:16<\/li>\n<li>Understand his <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>grace<\/strong><\/span>. \u2013 Rom 3:23-25<\/li>\n<li>Take <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>responsibility<\/strong><\/span>: Confess sin. \u2013 1 John 1:9; James 5:16<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Repent<\/strong> <\/span>of wrong attitudes and actions. \u2013 1 Cor 15:34<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Love<\/strong> <\/span>others more than yourself. \u2013 John 13:34<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Acceptable Worship<\/h4>\n<p>Psalm 51:14-19 ESV<\/p>\n<p>Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
