And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, \u201cBe fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.\u201d And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day. And God said, \u201cLet the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds\u2014livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.\u201d And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. Then God said, \u201cLet us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.\u201d So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, \u201cBe fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.\u201d And God said, \u201cBehold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.\u201d And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Genesis 2:1-3 (ESV) ~ <\/strong>Creation Days 5 through 7<\/h3>\n<p>Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of creation account<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identifies the Creator and sets him apart from all other gods.<\/li>\n<li>Explains the true origin of the world.<\/li>\n<li>Ties God\u2019s past work with his future work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Creation account notes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cAccording to their kinds\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Does God\u2019s use of \u201ckind\u201d reveal <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">foreknowledge<\/span><\/strong>?<\/li>\n<li>Kind roughly corresponds to <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Species<\/span><\/strong> (some cases Genera and even Family).<\/li>\n<li>Human history <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">attests<\/span><\/strong> to this.<\/li>\n<li>Kind obviously conflicts with <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">evolutionary<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u201cMan in our image\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only humans share God\u2019s <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">breath<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>This indicates human\u2019s <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">physical<\/span><\/strong> and <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">immaterial<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The immaterial sets humanity apart from the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">animal<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>However, God is not <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">physical<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 John 4:24<\/li>\n<li><em>What is different between human and animal?<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">reasoning<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Intentional <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">creativity<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Higher form of <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">communication<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Free will<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Moral<\/span><\/strong> awareness<\/li>\n<li>Capacity to fully <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">love<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>New Testament writers have to remind us:<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>1 Corinthians 11:7 \u2013 Humanity needs to be <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ordered<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Ephesians 4:24 \u2013 Humans should be <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">selfless<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>James 3:9 \u2013 Humans should <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">see<\/span><\/strong> each other blessed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>Rest<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>God\u2019s rest is <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">symbolic<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Rest is for <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">mankind<\/span><\/strong> and needs to be a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">regular<\/span><\/strong> part of our lives.<\/li>\n<li>God set the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">example<\/span><\/strong> and gave the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">prescription<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Are you getting the required and needed rest in your life?<\/li>\n<li>God\u2019s rest is also symbolic of an <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">end<\/span><\/strong> of time.<\/li>\n<li>Human <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">history<\/span><\/strong> inevitably comes to an end.<\/li>\n<li>Which side of <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">rest<\/span><\/strong> will you be on?<\/li>\n<li>Have you done the \u201c<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">work<\/span><\/strong>\u201d that precedes rest?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>Blessing<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>God blesses that which has life with the ability to <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">produce<\/span><\/strong> more life.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Blessing<\/span><\/strong> becomes a major theme of the Old Testament.<\/li>\n<li>God promises to bless the world through Abraham\u2019s <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">offspring<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Jesus<\/span><\/strong> fulfills this promise through his sacrifice.<\/li>\n<li>Today we are blessed with the ability to \u201c<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">reproduce<\/span><\/strong>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Matt 28:18-20<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Are you living the \u201c<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">blessed<\/span><\/strong>\u201d life?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe account of creation\u2026provides a vivid portrayal of the work of God in transforming chaos into a creation
