{"id":1552,"date":"2018-04-22T16:09:45","date_gmt":"2018-04-22T16:09:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/?p=1552"},"modified":"2018-04-29T14:28:04","modified_gmt":"2018-04-29T14:28:04","slug":"sermon-april-22-2018-prayers-that-get-answered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermon-april-22-2018-prayers-that-get-answered\/","title":{"rendered":"Sermon &#8211; April 22, 2018: &#8220;Prayers That Get Answered&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-1552-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/apr22-18.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/apr22-18.mp3\">http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/apr22-18.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<h3><strong>Prayers That Get Answered \u2013 part 1<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>God answers prayers of faith and faithfulness<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pray with confident expectation that God will move and answer.<\/li>\n<li>Only the obedient can really expect God to answer prayers of faith.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>God answers persistent praying<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two parables illustrate the need for persistent praying<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Parable of the Persistent Neighbor (Luke 11:5-13)<\/li>\n<li>Parable of the Persistent Widow (Luke 18:1-8)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Persistent praying actualizes the true need being expressed.<\/li>\n<li>Persistent praying actualizes confidence in God\u2019s ability to work and do the best.<\/li>\n<li>Persistent prayer helps us see the wisdom in how God has answered the prayer.<\/li>\n<li>Persistent praying prevents loss of heart.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0God answers unified group prayer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jesus and the New Testament writers spoke of prayer in the context of the Jewish culture.\n<ul>\n<li>Prayer is largely a group activity<\/li>\n<li>Most prayers are expressed with the group in mind.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Group prayer was therefore expected and not emphasized all that much in the New Testament.<\/li>\n<li>This should be kept in mind when reading the various passages concerning prayer.<\/li>\n<li>Jesus does emphasize the power of group prayer in Matthew 18:19-20.\n<ul>\n<li>Context is making a decision concerning a brother in possible sin.<\/li>\n<li>The principle can be applied to general unified group praying.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The benefit to group prayer\n<ul>\n<li>Is not the likeliness of God\u2019s response.<\/li>\n<li>Is in the way God may respond by using the group and not just the individual.<\/li>\n<li>This in turn can alleviate an individual\u2019s fear of being alone.<\/li>\n<li>It confounds the Enemy!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Are you on board?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Christian life requires sacrifice of self.<\/li>\n<li>God wants us to pray in faith and faithfulness. Are you willing to sacrifice confidence in yourself and submit to God\u2019s will?<\/li>\n<li>God wants us to pray persistently. Are you willing to sacrifice your time and fear?<\/li>\n<li>God wants us to pray united.
