{"id":1517,"date":"2018-03-11T23:51:52","date_gmt":"2018-03-11T23:51:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/?p=1517"},"modified":"2018-03-27T00:45:54","modified_gmt":"2018-03-27T00:45:54","slug":"03-11-2018-marriage-divorce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/03-11-2018-marriage-divorce\/","title":{"rendered":"Sermon &#8211; March 11, 2018: &#8220;Marriage &#038; Divorce&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-1517-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/mar11-18.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/mar11-18.mp3\">http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/mar11-18.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Luke 16:18<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Parallel Accounts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mark 10:11-12 and Matthew 5:32 &amp; 19:9<\/p>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jesus has just finished reinforcing the idea that the law is everlasting, and taking this account alongside of Matthew 5:17, he shows that he did not come to abolish the law.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Luke\u2019s reason for recording<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Luke takes the opportunity to show how Jesus actually upheld the law where the Pharisees failed to do so.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Seventh Commandment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cYou shall not commit adultery.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and someone who is not their spouse.<\/li>\n<li>Jesus: divorce + remarriage = adultery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why divorce + remarriage = adultery<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Law says sexual intercourse IS marriage.
