style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ezra<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">Does authorship really matter?<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Questioning the authorship questions the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>authenticity<\/strong><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>inspiration<\/strong><\/span> and proposes a more human means of development making it easier to question and reject the rest of <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Scripture<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">Evidence of Mosaic authorship<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u2022 <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pentateuch<\/span> <\/strong>itself claims Moses as author.<br \/>\n\u2022 Theological and compositional unity necessitates <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>one<\/strong><\/span> author\/editor.<br \/>\n\u2022 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Attribution<\/strong><\/span> to Moses is made throughout both Old and New Testaments.<br \/>\n\u2022 An <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Egyptian<\/strong><\/span> educated man would be capable of writing, recording and compiling such a work.<br \/>\n\u2022 The vast amount of events recorded find Moses in the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>middle<\/strong><\/span> of them.<br \/>\n\u2022 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Jesus<\/strong><\/span> attributes these books to Moses.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Evidence suggests Moses to be responsible for the compiling, recording and editing of the Pentateuch, and more specifically Genesis, under the guidance and inspiration of God.<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">What is the purpose of the Pentateuch?<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u2022 Torah means <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>teaching<\/strong><\/span> suggesting it exists is to <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">teach<\/span><\/strong> about God and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>teach<\/strong><\/span> his instructions for his people Israel.<br \/>\n\u2022 In hindsight, the conclusions of the narrative sections of the Pentateuch suggest another purpose for the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Christian<\/strong><\/span> era.<br \/>\n\u2022 These books <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">confirm<\/span><\/strong> God\u2019s sovereignty over the world through the gradual <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>realization<\/strong><\/span> of a master plan being unfolded since the beginning of time.<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">Our reason for studying Genesis<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u2022 Genesis is foundational to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>understanding<\/strong><\/span> the rest of the Bible and God\u2019s plan for us.<br \/>\n\u2022 Genesis provides the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>foundation<\/strong><\/span> for many of our beliefs and doctrine.<br \/>\n\u2022 Genesis serves to reassure and strengthen our <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>faith<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">What to expect<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u2022 Verse by verse and\/or section by section.<br \/>\n\u2022 Identifying the \u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>firsts<\/strong><\/span>\u201d and their importance<br \/>\n\u2022 Identifying the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>types<\/strong><\/span> fulfilled in the New Testament<br \/>\n\u2022 Examining and learning lessons from the lives of the <span style=\"text-decoration:
