{"id":1096,"date":"2017-01-01T01:12:27","date_gmt":"2017-01-01T01:12:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/?p=1096"},"modified":"2017-01-22T23:45:13","modified_gmt":"2017-01-22T23:45:13","slug":"sermon-january-1-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermon-january-1-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Sermon &#8211; January 1, 2017:  &#8220;Living the &#8216;Spirit-filled&#8217; Life&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-1096-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/jan1-17.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/jan1-17.mp3\">http:\/\/kcc.life\/life\/sermons\/jan1-17.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\nLiving the \u201cSpirit-filled\u201d Life<br \/>\nLuke 4:1-13<\/p>\n<p>Reason for the narrative<br \/>\n\u2022 Last piece of intentional evidence<br \/>\n\u2022 Jesus is clearly portrayed as divine<br \/>\n\u2013 Satan tempting him to do only something God can do.<br \/>\n\u2013 Resisting the \u201cgrand scale\u201d temptations of Satan.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cSpirit-filled\u201d life<br \/>\n\u2022 Being \u201cfilled\u201d \u2260 \u201chaving within\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 \u201cWithin\u201d &#8211; having access through the Spirit within us to God\u2019s empowerment and wisdom.<br \/>\n\u2022 \u201cFilled\u201d &#8211; to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to live by the wisdom and will of God.<\/p>\n<p>How we live the Spirit-filled life<br \/>\n\u2022 Follow Jesus\u2019 example.<br \/>\n\u2022 Jesus submitted himself to the Father (Phillipians 2:5-8).<br \/>\n\u2022 We must humble ourselves and submit to God.<\/p>\n<p>Why live the Spirit-filled life<br \/>\n\u2022 A life lived without the influence and empowerment of the Spirit is a life lived for nothing.<br \/>\n\u2022 The Spirit-filled life is living free from the consequence of sin, reconciled to God for eternity.
