Prayers That Get Answered – part 2
God answers specific prayers that build faith
- The problem with general prayers
- They are often lazy.
- They are unmeasurable.
- They are “safe.”
- They are often faithless.
- A relationship with God requires faith.
- If so, then…
- There should be a desire for “increase” in faith.
- Prayer is one of the tools God uses.
- The more specific the prayer the easier to see God at work.
- Seeing God respond to prayer increases trust in him.
God answers faith-filled complaints
- Faith-filled complaints are nothing more than venting.
- Venting requires another person who is trusted to not take everything said literally.
- Faith-filled complaining means being real with God about one’s feelings and lack of understanding.
- In many ways faith-filled complaints are just another tool God can use to increase faith.
- When complaining David’s example should be followed. (Psalms 10, 13, 22, 38, 60, 74, 79 & 83)
- Complaint
- Specific prayer
- Prayer of praise and hope
