- What good is building altars?
- The Christian’s altar is found in daily worship habits (spiritual disciplines).
- These habits are not ritualistic works.
- These habits are the result of true belief.
- We do them because we love and desire to submit to God.
- So What?
- Finite beings cannot live perfectly, but we can strive for perfect intentions.
- Remember, it is not works that save but faith that saves.
- The Christian needs to be devoted to daily worship habits in order to draw closer
- to God and be aligned with his will. – Romans 12:1-2
- Basic Spiritual Disciplines
- Bible intake – Read, memorize and meditate on scripture.
- Pray – Regularly communicate with God.
- Submit – Do what God says.
- Rest – Take time to focus.
- Fellowship – Interact with believers.
- Serve – Do what is best and right for others.
