Sermon – July 31, 2016: “The Importance of Church Membership”

The “church” is you and me; followers of Jesus Christ, worshiping, communing and working together to become like Jesus and do his work here on earth together.
The purpose of the church is to exalt God and educate, equip and encourage followers of Jesus for the purpose of sanctified living, evangelism and discipleship.
The practice of membership serves as an indicator that people really get what church is about, and it gives people the opportunity to really commit themselves to certain duties and actions.
The 7 Commitments of a Church Member
• I commit to active and consistent participation in corporate worship. – Hebrews 10:25
• I commit to the renewing of my mind and the resulting transformation with my KCC family. – Romans 12:1-2
• I commit to serving and edifying my KCC family with my God given gifts and talents. – 1 Corinthians 12
• I commit to financial participation through the giving of tithes and offerings. – Luke 21:1-4
• I commit to fellowship with others in the church family and participation in mutual accountability. – Acts 2:42 & Matthew 18:15-17
• I commit to the participating in the overall calling of the church to evangelize and make disciples. – Matthew 28:18-20
• I commit to following the example and leadership of the pastors of Kingman Christian Church as they commit to following the example and lead of Jesus Christ who is the head. – Hebrews 13:17-25
